Act 01

Before

The founder, the product, the starting line

This commercial is to promote VoiceOS — a YC-backed productivity SaaS company.

The product

VoiceOS turns what you say into what your computer does. Hold one key, say the task, and it writes the reply, shares the file, books the meeting.

Act 02

The stakes

Why this launch had to work

The goal

Get people to try it. VoiceOS is a download, so the launch was counted in new users.

The obstacle

VoiceOS lives behind a single key. On camera that’s a person at a keyboard, the least watchable shot there is. The film had to make the keyboard the calm in a loud room.

Act 03

The idea

The creative direction

Less multitasking. More focus.

The hook

A raised voice. A manager in a suit storms in shouting a name, and the one person he wants doesn’t look up.

About the commercial

The ad demonstrates VoiceOS’s new thought-to-action feature in a real workplace scenario. It follows a tense moment in an office where a frustrated manager storms in looking for files.

Act 04

The making

Production and behind the scenes

About the commercial

The ad will be only 1 minute long but will take roughly 4 hours to shoot.

Behind the camera

From script to production in a week, as Kai put it. One office, a cast of three, and a shoot planned at about four hours for a one-minute ad.

Act 06

The ripple

Results and what they led to

Who did what

We wrote, storyboarded, shot and cut the film. VoiceOS built the product and posted the launch from Kai’s account.

Act 07

Why it worked

The lesson founders can steal

Show the problem out loud. Let the product solve it quietly.

The decision

Making the product the calm in the room. Everyone else on screen is loud; the person using VoiceOS barely moves.

Ethan is insanely talented. Took it from script to production in a week.

VoiceOS@VoiceOSApp

Cracked team from Toronto created this launch video. Huge shoutout to @imethanchoi for pulling this off in literally a week.
