Act 01

Before

The founder, the product, the starting line

“I've always hated smart glasses because I don't want to look at more screens”
Ishika Mittal, launch post, May 14

The product

An earbud you talk to. Ordo listens through the day and answers in your ear: the grocery list read back at the shelf, step-by-step instructions at the bench, the ride home booked before you reach the curb.

The starting line

Pre-seed, with Batch 1 to sell and one launch post to sell it.

Act 02

The stakes

Why this launch had to work

The goal

The launch had one job: sell Batch 1.

The obstacle

A wearable only sells when people can picture it in their own day. A product shot of an earbud shows what it looks like, not what it does.

Act 03

The idea

The creative direction

A day in the life, hands-free.

The idea

One character through one full day: a morning run, the kitchen, the office, the workbench, a grocery run, a curbside pickup. Ordo quietly handles everything in her ear.

Product and UI

Notifications and voice replies composited as on-screen UI, plus an exploded render of the earbud to show what’s inside.

Act 04

The making

Production and behind the scenes

On location

Shot in real places rather than a studio, so the product lives in the world it was built for.

Behind the camera

Shot by @imethanchoi and @Michaelliangg, as Ishika credited them, across the places in the film: a grocery store, a kitchen, an office, a workbench, the curb.

Act 06

The ripple

Results and what they led to

Beyond the numbers

  • Featured in five publications: T3, Digital Trends, inkl, Trend Hunter and Yahoo Life
  • Inbound from customers describing their own Ordo use cases
  • An offer from Data Center Labs, declined to protect Ordo’s privacy-first principles
  • Inbound from a Japanese market agency about a bulk order and a launch on Rakuten and Amazon Japan

Five publications from one launch post.

And the coverage turned into sales:

Who did what

We made the film. Ordo built the product and posted the launch, and the press found it on its own: Ishika learned about the coverage from a Stripe spike.

Act 07

Why it worked

The lesson founders can steal

Don’t show the product. Show the day it lives in.

The decision

Letting the founder post it. From a brand account the film is an ad. From Ishika’s own account it was her news.

Our wins speak for themselves.

Okay I get so many questions on who shot the video, so am sharing here - @imethanchoi @Michaelliangg super high agency and cool people, highly recommend them

Smart Earbuds with built-in camera and AI embedded I've always hated smart glasses because I don't want to look at more screens So I built Ordo: - ask anything to a local ai and hear answers instantly - takes photos of your life hands-free, just by speaking - remembers
